Project Runway - you're about to lose me. Next season you'll be on Lifetime, so you'll be losing that percentage of the audience who vowed never to watch something on Lifetime. Last night's shenanigans did not help.
I won't spoil it for people who haven't seen it. Besides, when they do see it you'll ruin the show for them. I won't argue about the person you eliminated because the bottom two will be eliminated eventually, so who cares when it happens.
But the winner?! Are you for real?! How did that dress represent the challenge - dress for a night on the town in NYC? Only people who want to be on Mr. Blackwell's Worst Dress list would wear that out on a night on the town in NYC. I don't even think the ladies of SATC would wear that dress. Even Tim Gunn didn't like it.
No more stunt wins Project Runway. You're already on thin ice going to Lifetime. You can't afford to lose another viewer!
One of my goals on my Seattle trip was to visit Roq La Rue which is frequently spotlighted on BoingBoing. During my visit they were holding their 10th Anniversary group show featuring work by Mark Ryden, Marion Peck, Shag, and Liz McGrath to name a few.
Next door is BLVD Gallery. I stepped in while waiting for Roq La Rue to open. BLVD's current show is by Deuce 7. I liked the work so much I bought a piece. See the work.
Finally on my last gallery stop I checked out Suite 100 Gallery for their Oceanic group show. Kelly Vivanco, who I've posted about, has a few pieces here.
Seattleites love the outdoors and who can blame them when they live in such beautiful scenery. It seems like everyone there was doing something outdoorsy on Saturday - being on the water, hiking, biking, running, etc. My Saturday was also outdoor activity day. My friend took me kayaking on Lake Washington.
During my Seattle visit I took The Underground tour. Today's Seattle is built on top of the original foundations of the city. This was to prevent flooding since Seattle sits pretty much at sea level. There's a bigger story involved, but basically on this tour you can walk on the original sidewalks of the city.
During my trip to Seattle I got a chance to eat some good food. After I landed we headed to West Seattle, our home base, to The Matador. They have a great happy hour and the most spicy fried calamari I've ever eaten. Yum!
My first full day in Seattle was my sightseeing day. This included the obligatory stop at Pike Place and the popular Piroshky-Piroshky which is right next to the first Starbucks.
Sunday brunch time! I guess brunch is popular all over and not just at LA breakfast hot spots.
We headed to Easy Street which is part diner, coffee bar downstairs, cd shop upstairs. Think Amoeba, but smaller and serving no frills diner food. I ordered the Easy Rider, a breakfast sandwich that puts the Egg McMuffin to shame.
But don't worry; I still love me a McGriddle.
This past weekend I made my way out to Seattle and finally visit my friend Judy. To start off the trip I decided to fly Virgin America which TF raves about. What I didn't tell anyone was that I flew first class on my way to Seattle. The difference between first class and economy is more room and all the amenities you'd normally pay for in economy are included like all the movies, meals and drinks.
A long time ago in a gallery not to far away I stumbled upon the work of Vanessa Matthews. The Soreheads are your inner bad attitude. Don't deny. We're all a bit gloom and doom inside. Vanessa was kind enough to leave a nice message on my blog. Thanks Vanessa!
you know kayaking is pretty fun, but my arms gets really sore :) read more
